3-in-1 to Australia/NZ + Bali/Thailand/etc from all over UK in £700s return (Emirates)

If done right, you're looking at an amazing holiday down under, departing from anywhere in the UK, with stops to some of the best destinations in SE Asia along the way.
Alrighty, a complex deal for you today, but if done right, you're looking at an amazing holiday down under, departing from anywhere in the UK, with stops to some of the best destinations in SE Asia along the way. These work both as 2-in-1 trips (UK -> SE Asia -> OZ/NZ -> UK) or you can add an additional stop on the return leg to make it a 3-in-1 trip for the same price :-)

These are multi-stop trips, so you have to make sure to enter this correctly into Google Flights and Momondo - you can use our example itinerary below as a starting point and then change the dates, destination, and stops as needed to fit your plans. Sadly, there is no easy calendar tool to find the best options, but the example dates listed below seem to work for nearly all routes.

Note: for London departures, the prices in Momondo will often be lower when departing from one airport and returning into another (such as out of Stansted, returning into Heathrow).

Here's how to book:

1. There is no simple calendar tool to find these fares, but the good news is that there are lots of dates to choose from throughout the specified months the deal is available.

I'd recommend starting in Google Flights by using either of the links below, adjusting your destinations/stops as needed and entering any of the example itinerary dates below to start with. After that, adjust the dates of your trip one by one and wait for the price to refresh. As long as it's still in the deal range (£700s), you can then continue to adjust the other dates as needed too.

Another tip you can try to help find this deal is to find the cheapest dates with Emirates for normal returns to your 2nd leg destinations (Oz+NZ) and then add in your stops in SE Asia afterwards.

Note:
The November dates (such as those in the example itinerary link) seem to work with all the Asia stops listed above, but some of the dates in 2019 only allow for stops in Singapore, Hong Kong, Bali, Bangkok & Phuket. The example itinerary dates below seem to work as of this writing, but there are others too. If you stick within the Nov - early Dec, late Feb - March, and late April - May range, you should have quite a bit of flexibility to play with.

Example itinerary dates:

For 3 leg trips:

  • Nov 5th -> 12th -> 19th -> Dec 3rd
  • Nov 12th -> 18th -> 25th -> Dec 7th
  • Nov 15th -> 23rd -> 30th -> Dec 9th
  • Nov 26th -> Dec 3rd -> 10th -> 17th
  • Dec 3rd -> 10th -> 24th -> Jan 13th
  • Feb 10th -> 17th -> 24th -> Mar 3rd
  • Feb 14th -> 21st -> 28th -> Mar 10th
  • Feb 18th -> 24th -> Mar 10th -> 17th
  • Feb 28th -> Mar 7th -> 21st -> 28th
  • Mar 4th -> 11th -> 21st -> 28th
  • Apr 23rd > 30th -> May 6th -> 13th
For 2 leg trips:

  • Nov 5 -> 12th -> Dec 3rd
  • Nov 15 -> 23rd -> Dec 10th
  • Dec 3rd -> 10th -> Dec 24th
  • Feb 10th -> 17th -> Mar 3rd
  • Feb 18th - > 24th -> Mar 10th
  • Mar 4th -> 11th -> 25th
  • Mar 10th -> 18th -> 31st
  • Apr 22nd -> May 6th -> 13th

2. To get the price down another £20-£40, head over to Momondo and re-enter your chosen itinerary. Then book with an OTA (online travel agent) showing the best fare on your flight.

Note: for London departures, the prices in Momondo will often be lower when departing from one airport and returning into another (such as out of Stansted, returning into Heathrow).
